Movies.InfiniteCoolness.com progress...
I'm back to working on the site after a big life changing move to Edmonton. My day job takes more time, but you'll notice some updated stuff here already. This is the first page I've worked on in like 8 months, and boy I missed it. So I'm back and I'm gonna be working on the movie and desktop wallpaper sections right now. I've already made a kickass Watchmen wallpaper that I'll be posting in the first new batch coming soon. If you're a fan of the site, this should be great news, and if you're new have a look around. All the sections of InfiniteCoolness.com are linked at the top of every page! If you have any comments or suggestions about any part of the site, I'd be happy to hear from you.

If you like this site, then most people's "Best of 2008" lists and even the Oscars ignore the movies we all liked the best last year. I'm just back to working on the site and still have a few to watch that might make it on this list, so stay tuned. Here's my list of favorite movies from 2008:
Hellboy II
When I first saw the trailer, I had high hopes that this would be movie of the year. To me, it definitely was. I can only hope we'll see more Hellboy in the future! Don't miss this movie, or the original Hellboy either!
Iron Man
This is the best marvel super hero movie yet! I wish DC would smarten up and do more than just Batman. We need to see a Martian Manhunter or Flash movie as good as Iron Man. Anyway, if you're any fan of superhero movies, Iron Man is one of the best. Don't miss it!
Diary Of The Dead
I'm no fan of this new Blair Witch camerawork that's so popular now, but this is a damn good Zombie movie! Many will watch it just for the Romero name on it, but the movie itself is actually very well done. Hey, what other zombie movie from 2008 was better?
Be Kind Rewind
I like most Jack Black movies and this one's kind of harmless, but still funny. His ultimate movie is still School Of Rock, but Be Kind Rewind has a lot of charm to it. With the DVD format everywhere and a new format starting out, it was good to see something about the almighty vhs tape.
Cloverfield
This is another one of those handicam movies, but again it's good enough to overlook that. I love the scale of the monster, it's not just giant, it's truly gigantic! And the invasion [or what we see of it] is just great! This movie kind of makes me wish there was a regular version shot my a cinematographer with a regular movie camera. Still, cloverfield is a must-see!
Eagle Eye
The trailer hooked me in with it's Phonebooth meets Enemy Of The State vibe. It's no Enemy Of The State, but it's a good fast-paced thriller with a few twists. I liked it enough for this list, so check it out if you haven't.
How To Lose Friends And Alienate People
I haven't really liked anything Simon Pegg has done since Shaun Of The Dead and Doctor Who, but I like him in this. It's kind of an average romantic comedy, but it's the cast that makes it work. I was entertained, check it out!
The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight was a cool movie, and the cast did a great job. I definitely recommend that everyone out there should watch it. But as a hardcore DC fan, I just have to rant some stuff to the guys in charge. With marvel flooding the market with kickass movies based on their lame books, why can't the mighty DC rise up and blow us all away with it's Infinite Coolness?? Batman is far from the coolest hero in the DC Universe. And don't even mention the hack job done on Superman. Superman is a force beyond our knowing with powers coming from every cell. You need to show the alienness off, not the normal guy with powers. It's the wrong angle. And where's our Justice League movie!!!! And we fans want one movie for every League version too! But I digress, any other DC fans out there feel free to post your rant here.
Wall-E
It's Pixar, so you can't really go wrong. Wall-E is one of their best! It's like a cross between Silent Running and Short Circuit, and it really works nicely. Wall-E's no Bruce Dern quality actor, but he's likeable which is the whole point of the movie. Watch this one with kids or drunk by yourself, it's good either way! :P
Midnight Meat Train
Midnight Meat Train was one of my favorite new horror movies of 2008! It drags you along an ever more surreal trail through a slew of disappearances and a maniac with a butcher's hammer and a bad attitude. It's the kind of movie you have to see what's going to happen next. Plus I like the surreal ending, it gives the movie that much more coolness. Horror fans, see this one!
Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
My favorite Indiana Jones movie since The Temple Of Doom! I love the mix of old and new story elements and the plot and acting are great! If you're an Indy fan I'm sure you've seen this one. Anyone else out there should give it a look too!
Wanted
Wanted is a great assassin movie with just a bit of a scifi twist! The cast is cool, including of course the very hot Angelina Jolie. Definitely one of the best action movies of 2008!
Jumper
I'm no fan of Hayden Christensen, but this is the best teleporter movie I've seen in a long time, if ever. Plus the coolness of the very hot Rachel Bilson [from Chuck] and Samuel L. as a kickass hunter more than make up for it. It's an effects movie, but for a good reason. I'd like to see some more Jumper movies, hopefully not straight to DVD though.
Well, those are my favorites of 2008. If there are any there you haven't seen yet you should give them a shot. 2008 was a very lean year for really good movies, but the ones that were good were really good. I can't make a list like this without warning you away from some really awful movies I wasted my time on. Your opinions may differ, but I absolutely hated these pieces of crap:
Igor
There may have been worse movies in 2008, but none that got my hopes so high and then shot them down to nothing. The trailer for Igor made me want to see this, sure it would be a gothic comedy masterpiece! But the movie is so bad I couldn't even watch right to the end. What a horrible piece of dreck! A few small writing decisions gone the other way could've saved Igor from the crap pile, but as it is, I wouldn't even subject kids to this lame and boring piece of movie history. Avoid like the plague.
Speed Racer
I've never seen the old cartoon, and maybe you have to be a fan for the movie to work. It's sad to see such a good cast in such a piece of crap movie. Don't even bother with this one out of curiosity, it's a waste of your time.
Mutant Chronicles
I've been waiting for this one for a long time, but there's just no meat on the bone. The movie meanders off the interesting path and becomes a garbled mess. It left me with a very unsatisfied feeling after watching. I don't know if the budget had anything to do with it, but good writing can't be that expensive can it? Anyway, I know you'll probably want to see this one if you're a genre fan. I say don't bother.
With my full time job, I haven't seen every movie I've wanted to see for possible inclusion on this year's list. As I catch up, more may be added...
