First Contact and Wrath of Khan are my two favorite trek movies.   Most of the others vary greatly in quality. In First Contact the Borg, led by the Borg Queen [Alice Krige] travel back in time to stop the first earth ship that reaches warp speed and stopping earth's first contact with alien life. The whole TNG cast are here [including Worf from DS9] to fight the borg menace and make sure that first contact happens as it was supposed to. James Cromwell [also in Eraser and Deep Impact] does an excellent job as Zefram Cochrane, the inventor of warp drive. And watch for cameo appearances by the emergency medical hologram [Robert Picardo, also in The Howling, Dead Heat, Total Recall,   Wonder Years and Star Trek Voyager] and Ethan Phillips [who plays Neelix on Voyager and used to play Pete on Benson]. There's lots of action and trek tech in this one, and it really is the best thing I've seen with the next generation cast! The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was Geordi trading in his visor for cybernetic eyes. I know Levar Burton hated the visor and it supposedly gave him headaches wearing it, but it really made Geordi cool. I've always been a huge horror fan, but the horror scene was on the decline until Scream made it   popular again. Scream started the whole "self aware horror" thing that became the big trend. Overall, I prefer classic horror but I really liked Scream. If you haven't seen it, it's a smartly written teen slasher with a twist. So you get a lot of "never do this in a horror movie" and a lot of paranoia about who the Ghostface Killer is and who'll get killed next. The cast is cool too and includes Neve Campbell [from Wild Things and The Craft], Courteney Cox [from Friends], David Arquette [from Eight Legged Freaks], the very hot Rose McGowan  [from Phantoms], Matthew Lillard [from Hackers, Thirteen Ghosts and the Scooby Doo series], and Drew Barrymore [from Firestarter, Cat's Eye, E. T. and 50 First Dates among others]. Scream keeps a frantic pace and an atmosphere of paranoia very well. Plus, as a horror fan, I love all the horror movie references. Like seeing them all sitting around watching Halloween, while the killer hacks and slashes up victims in the same house. As a matter of fact, Scream has a lot of similarities to the original Halloween, like heavy use of phones, the tv and the killer lurking in the background of some scenes. Plus, that scream mask is pretty original and it looks cool. I'm not really a fan of Scream's sequels [which get progressively worse], but the original just kicks ass. Terminator is a great Arnold movie. I've just seen it again and it's still as cool as ever. As a matter of fact all three Terminator movies ruled, and Terminator 3 is my favorite so far! In the future, a military computer [Skynet] becomes self aware and decides to wipe out humanity  . Led by John Connor the humans fight back. In desperation Skynet sends 2 Terminators to kill John Connor. One model-101 [Arnold Schwarzenegger!] to kill his mother Sarah [Linda Hamilton from T2, King Kong Lives and Beauty & The Beast] before he's born. Another is sent to kill John Connor as a boy just in case the 101 model failed [that's T2]. Skynet later sends a third more advanced terminator to make sure that it's awakening goes off without a hitch [that's T3]. This whole series rocks, I love time travel and apocalypse stuff too. The original starts it all off and Kyle Reese [Michael Biehn from The Rock and Tombstone] is trying  to save Sarah Connor from the Model-101. So you know there's lots of great action. The rest of the cast is great too and includes Lance Henriksen [from Aliens, Near Dark, Pumpkinhead, Millennium and AVP], great character actor Dick Miller [from Gremlins, Night of the Creeps, Dead Heat, Demon Knight, The Flash and others], a tiny role for Bill Paxton [from Near Dark, True Lies, Twister, U-571 and Frailty] just like his tiny role in Commando, and Brian Thompson [from Kindred: The Embraced, The X-Files, Buffy and Cobra] among others.
