![]() what that movie does for memory, this one does for cloning. Adam Gibson [Arnold Schwarzenegger from The Terminator, Commando, Total Recall, Eraser, Terminator 2, The Last Action Hero and Terminator 3] comes home to find himself already there. Then he's drawn into a whole situation involving a multi-millionaire with cloning technology, his murderous henchmen, and an agent of a fanatical anti-cloning group. This is Arnold's best everyman character, and the rest of the cast is great too and includes Michael Rapaport [from Friends and Boston Public], Tony Goldwyn, Michael Rooker [also in The Replacement Killers, Tombstone, Cliffhanger and The Dark Half], Colin Cunningham [from The Outer Limits and Stargate SG-1], Robert Duvall [![]() That asshole puts down Canada all the time], Tony Goldwyn [from Kiss The Girls, The Pelican Brief, Ghost and Jason Lives], Wendy Crewson [from Bicentennial Man, Folks! and 24], Sarah Wynter [from 24 and The Dead Zone], Rodney Rowland [from Angel, Fastlane and 7 Days] and Jennifer Gareis as the hot virtual girlfriend. The 6th Day has tons of cool technology, lots of action and a great sci-fi story. It's interesting to see how the times have effected the action genre. Most of the violence we expect in a good Arnold movie is still here, but it's just not on camera. He even warns some thugs not to let his daughter see any violence. I still prefer to see the violence and gore, but this works almost as well. The 6th Day logo links to a gallery of hi-res pictures, here are some cool links:The 6th Day at the IMDB. ![]() There's also Den, a great story of a nerdy kid who is transformed into a hulking hero and transported to an alternate universe. Den is probably my favorite, because Den [John Candy from Stripes, Brewster's Millions, Summer Rental, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck and SCTV] is such a riot. Also providing voices are Joe Flaherty [from Back To The Future II, Maniac Mansion and SCTV], Eugene Levy [from Multiplicity, the American Pie Movies, The Man, Greg The Bunny and SCTV], Harold Ramis [from Stripes, Ghostbusters and SCTV], and John Vernon [from Animal House and Killer Klowns]. The other segments include an old war plane full of zombies, two alien stoners and a robot cruising around outer space in a giant happy face, a trial where the charges and character witness are an absolute riot, and a classic tale of evil and revenge starring some hot warrior babe. Be warned though, this movie is pretty much only for guys.![]() Most ladies I know that have seen it call it a porno, although I know there are some out there who are cool enough to like it. Sure there's lots of nudity, and there isn't one woman in it who isn't totally built, but that's not all the movie is. It's an epic journey through various worlds with a connection story as a guide. It's based on Heavy Metal Magazine [with an awesome cover gallery on the DVD!], and it does a perfect job of translating the format to a movie! I can't stand those people who think animation is only for kids. This is a perfect example of animation used to tell a real story that adults can enjoy. If you haven't seen it, you've got to! Go rent or buy it now! Cool links for this movie are kind of scarce, the title links to the cool official Heavy Metal site. Here are some other links:Heavy Metal at the IMDB. ![]() The job is a diamond depot, and all five players use aliases so they don't know anything about each other. They're all hardcore criminals and more than willing to shoot their way into or out of a tough situation. Except one guy who's really a cop, deep under cover. The cast is really great, including Mr. White [Harvey Keitel from Saturn 3, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn, U-571 and National Treasure], Mr. Orange [Tim Roth from Pulp Fiction, Hoodlum and the Planet Of The Apes remake], Mr. Blonde [Michael Madsen from The Doors, Species, Donnie Brasco, Sin City and Vengeance Unlimited], Mr. Pink [Steve Buscemi from Airheads, Fargo, Con Air, The Big Lebowski, Armageddon, Monsters Inc. and The Sopranos], Mr. Brown [Quentin Tarantino from From Dusk Till Dawn], Mr. Blue [Edward Bunker from The Running Man], Nice Guy Eddie [Chris Penn from Corky Romano], Joe Cabot [Lawrence Tierney from Silver Bullett],![]() cop hostage Marvin Nash [Kirk Baltz from Natural Born Killers, Face Off and The Human Target] and the great Steven Wright [from Natural Born Killers and Half Baked] as the K-Billy DJ. Reservoir Dogs is a very gritty and raw movie about crime and violence. If you like movies like Natural Born Killers and Truth or Consequences N.M., you'll love this movie. I really love the non-linear story timeline, Mr. Pink's great shootout with the pigs, and the cool three way mexican standoff. Plus, Tim Roth is so fantastic and totally convincing as a dying gunshot victim through the whole movie. And the cinematography and various setups in the movie are very different from your usual movie. This is really one of the all time great crime movies. ![]() and the fact that any of us can die at any time. If you can see the plan you can avoid your fate, or at least that's what happens here. Devon Sawa [from Idle Hands] plays a guy who is going on a school field trip, and before the plane takes off he has a vision of the plane blowing up. This freaks him out and he causes a ruckus, getting himself and a few others kicked off the plane. After the plane blows up, unexplained accidents start to happen to those that survived. Now it's up to them to figure out what's going on and how to stop it. The writing is awesome and the cast is great! I especially like the small appearance by Tony Todd [from The Crow, Wishmaster, the Candyman movies and Star Trek DS9] as the eerily knowing mortician. And it's interesting to see Chad Donella [U.V. from Disturbing Behavior] ![]() without the makeup on. Also cool in this movie are Kerr Smith and Brendan Fehr [both from The Forsaken] and Seann William Scott [from Evolution and as Steve Stiffler in the American Pie series!], the very hot Amanda Detmer, and Ali Larter [from House On Haunted Hill, Legally Blonde, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Final Destination 2]. Death is a very subtle thing and doesn't show itself in obvious ways in the film. But that doesn't mean there's no action, the movie's full of great action, thrills and some very grisly and inventive deaths. This is one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time, check it out! The sequel is really great too, and Final Destination 3 is cool too! ![]() and one of his best films! He stars as Tony Montana, a cuban hustler who comes to Miami and makes his way to the top of a big cocaine cartel. He does this shrough sheer will, ruthlessness and extreme brutality. Also cool in the movie are Michelle Pfeiffer [from Batman Returns and Dangerous Minds], F. Murray Abraham [from Last Action Hero, Serpico, Mimic, Surviving The Game and Thirteen Ghosts], Steven Bauer [from Traffic and The Outer Limits], Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio [from The Abyss and The Perfect Storm] and Robert Loggia [from Independence Day, The Outer Limits and The Sopranos]. The sheer volume and extent of the onscreen violence is ![]() worth watching alone, but the movie is also really well written [by Oliver Stone] and acted. If you like sex, drugs and violence in your entertainment, like Reservoir Dogs or The Sopranos, you'll love Scarface! I haven't seen such a gleefully violent movie since Natural Born Killers. They're even making a new video game based on Scarface! It's a definite must see movie! This movie was out of print for a long time, but now Scarface is out as an excellent new deluxe DVD!!
