![]() It's also Kiefer Sutherland's first time directing a movie and he does a fantastic job. The story is about a group of criminals on the run after murdering a drug dealer and having an ultra cool shootout with the pigs. Kiefer Sutherland [from The Lost Boys, Flatliners, Dark City, Phone Booth and 24] stars as the stone cold killer of the group, Curtis Freley. Most of the troubles they have are caused by Curtis and his murderous impulses. While on the run, they kidnap a couple [Kevin Pollak from Clean Slate, The Usual Suspects, Casino, Deterrence, End Of Days & Hostage and Grace Phillips from Murder One] and use their RV to elude the police. What none of them knows is that one of the criminals is actually an undercover cop. Also great in the movie are Vincent Gallo, Mykelti Williamson [from Heat, Con Air, Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, Time Trax, The Outer Limits and Third Watch], Kim Dickens, James McDaniel [from Taken, NYPD Blue, Stargate SG1, Las Vegas and John Doe],![]() John C. McGinley [from Platoon, Point Break, Surviving The Game, Seven, The Rock and Office Space], Max Perlich [from Cliffhanger and Homicide: Life on the Street], Rod Steiger [from End Of Days], and Martin Sheen [from Apocalypse Now, The Dead Zone, Firestarter, Spawn, B5: River of Souls, Time Shifters and The West Wing]. The scene where the cops search the RV is a lot like a cool scene from the movie From Dusk Till Dawn. I love Curtis' idea about flipping the coin, how Gordon starts to think they're his friends and not his captors, and the great scene where Curtis runs over the cop's legs! Once again, my old nemesis pan&scan shows his ugly face. This is yet another classic movie that's only out on pan&scan DVD. That sucks, but the movie's so good that I bought it anyway. There's not too many good links out there for Truth or Consequences N.M., so the logo links to a gallery I put together [with desktop wallpapers!]. ![]() The problem is that after a set time it dissolves. Well, corruption and evil reaches into his life and changes it forever. His lab is destroyed, and so is he. Thought to be killed in the explosion, he actually survived, but he's horribly disfigured. In an operation to help him survive, his sense of touch and pain receptors are shut off. This increases his strength, but makes his mind unstable and prone to rage. He rebuilds his lab in an old warehouse and uses his skin technology first to get back his old life, then when that doesn't work out to get revenge on the thugs who ruined everything he was. There are some really great and original scenes where he uses his mimic ability against his enemies. Plus lots of great action and violence. His arch-nemesis Durant is played excellently by Larry Drake [from Darkman II, Prey and The Outer Limits]. Durant is a really great movie bad guy, I love how he collects fingers with his cigar cutter. The rest of the cast is cool too, including Frances McDormand [from Fargo and Almost Famous], Colin Friels [from Dark City],![]() Jessie Lawrence Ferguson [from John Carpenter's Prince Of Darkness], Dan Bell, Nelson Mashita, Dan Hicks, Nicholas Worth [from Swamp Thing, Barb Wire, Star Trek Voyager and Night Court] and Ted Raimi [from Wishmaster, Candyman, Shocker, Xena, American Gothic and Odyssey 5]. Darkman has a great comic book premise, a great cast, tons of action and a memorable and evil villain! There were two sequels made, and they weren't quite as good as the original, but still pretty good. Darkman's a really great movie that's often overlooked. Give it a look if you're looking for action with a far out twist! The Darkman logo links to a gallery I put together. Here are some other cool Darkman links:Darkman at the IMDB. ![]() They've been relocated and given tedious nine to five jobs. The world's greatest hero was Mr. Incredible, and he's been put in the suburbs with his wife [Elastigirl] and given an insurance job. The world created in The Incredibles is so cool and funny, those guys at Pixar are all geniuses! The movie really shines in the details, like how Mr. Incredible's car has a secret identity too, and the great evil hideout full of henchmen. Needless to say, the heroes aren't happy in hiding, and when an evil supervillain menace threatens the world they spring, fly and slide back into action! I love how the movie shows the superhero life as being exciting and heroic, but still full of every day details [like Mystery Men and Invincible]. Like most Pixar movies, the graphics are phenominal, and the character design is outstanding.![]() All of the background heroes we only get a glimpse of are even cool! The whole world of The Incredibles is so realistic, yet very cool and cartoony. Plus the mix of hilarious comedy and super powered action is exactly right. The voice acting is top notch too, including Craig T. Nelson [from The Skulls, The Devil's Advocate and Poltergeist], Holly Hunter [from Raising Arizona], Samuel L. Jackson [from Pulp Fiction, Die Hard With a Vengeance, The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Negotiator, Formula 51, Deep Blue Sea and The Man], and Jason Lee [from Mallrats, Enemy Of The State, Almost Famous, Dreamcatcher and My Name Is Earl]. Don't let this movie be written off as a kids movie, you'll love it no matter who you are. The Incredibles logo links to the official site [tons of great content!]. ![]() He plays John McLane, a cop who finds himself at the wrong christmas party at the wrong time. His estranged wife Holly [Bonnie Bedelia from Needful Things, Die Hard 2 and The Outer Limits] and her co-workers are taken hostage by terrorists. So of course it's up to McClane to creep through the air ducts and maintenance crawlways and stop them. And he even does it without any shoes!! The terrorist leader Hans Gruber is played excellently by Alan Rickman [from Galaxy Quest and the Harry Potter movies]. Also great in the movie are Reginald VelJohnson [from Ghostbusters, Crocodile Dundee, Die Hard 2, Turner & Hooch, 227, Perfect Strangers, Tales From The Crypt, CSI and Family Matters], Alexander Godunov [from The Money Pit and The Runestone], Paul Gleason [from Trading Places, Magnum P.I., The Wonder Years, Seinfeld, Dark Skies, Friends and Fastlane], William Atherton [from Ghostbusters, Die Hard 2, Hoodlum, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Stargate SG-1 and Justice League], De'voreaux White [from Quincy and Head of the Class],![]() Hart Bochner [from Supergirl, Mr. Destiny and Crossing Jordan], Dennis Hayden, Clarence Gilyard Jr. [from Matlock], Robert Davi [from Predator 2, Raw Deal, Profiler, The Pretender and Stargate Atlantis], and Al Leong [from They Live and The Last Action Hero among others]. So that's a phenominal cast, and there's a lot of great action and violence mixed in to keep the coolness level up. I love how Hans notices McClane has no shoes and uses it against him, and how he pretends to be some innocent bystander when McClane comes across him. The relationship that develops between McClane and his cop buddy outside is great. Overall, I can't recommend the movie more!
