The Faculty is a really cool modern version of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. It's set in a high school where a group of students discover that an alien organism is taking over the staff, then everyone else. The heroes even reference the original pod movie, saying it was more than just a story.  The Faculty isn't just another teen horror movie, it's a classic that just so happens to have a great teen cast! High School is already a crazy place [I know I hated it], but an alien invasion cranks the weirdness up to another level. The takeover starts with the faculty, but soon spreads through the student body. Before they know it, the heroes of the movie are truly the outsiders, as the invasion spreads and nobody is really who they seem. And in a situation like that, can they even trust each other? Both the kids and adults are perfectly cast, including the ultimately hot Salma Hayek [from Fools Rush In, Fled and From Dusk Till Dawn], Famke Janssen [from House On Haunted Hill and The X-Men movies], Bebe Neuwirth [from Jumanji, Cheers and Frasier], Robert Patrick [from Terminator 2, Die Hard 2, The Outer Limits, The Sopranos, The X-Files and The Unit], Jon Stewart [from Half Baked and The Daily Show], Daniel von Bargen [from Broken Arrow, G.I. Jane and Seinfeld], Christopher McDonald [from Happy Gilmore, Requiem for a Dream and Veronica's Closet], Jordana Brewster [from The Fast and the Furious], Clea DuVall [from Can't Hardly Wait and The Astronaut's Wife],  Laura Harris [from The Outer Limits, 24, Jake 2.0, Dead Like Me and The Dead Zone], Elijah Wood [from Deep Impact, the Lord Of The Rings movies, Sin City and Green Street Hooligans], Josh Hartnett [from Halloween H20 and Lucky Number Slevin] and Shawn Hatosy. I love the paranoid atmosphere that the movie has, the great special effects [like when Famke Janssen's character splits into two creepy creatures], and my two favorite teachers are the ones played by Jon Stewart and Daniel von Bargen. Plus, The Faculty does a great job of keeping every character interesting even though the cast is huge! If you're looking for a kickass sci-fi thriller, The Faculty is just what you're looking for! Natural Born Killers is like no other movie, that's why this entry is so different from the others. It's written by Quentin Tarantino [from Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn and Alias]  and directed by Oliver Stone [director of Platoon, The Doors and U-Turn], and it's definitely a masterpiece and a must see movie. The movie is made of what seems like a million quick cuts, and includes different filmstock, variable focus and colors and even animation in places. The movie is full of sex and violence, plus it's very grim and edgy. Woody Harrelson [from Cheers, Kingpin, The People vs. Larry Flynt, Grass and A Scanner Darkly] is perfectly cast as the maniac on a rampage Mickey Knox. I generally can't stand Juliette Lewis [from Strange Days, From Dusk Till Dawn, Christmas Vacation, Wonder Years and My Name Is Earl], but she's perfectly cast as the trashy, violent and twisted Mallory Knox. The rest of the cast is great including Tom Sizemore [from Lock Up, Point Break, Strange Days, Heat, Saving Private Ryan, Enemy Of The State and Dreamcatcher], Robert Downey Jr. [from Air America, Chaplin and One Night Stand],  Tommy Lee Jones [from Blown Away, Men In Black, U.S. Marshals, Double Jeopardy and Space Cowboys], Rodney Dangerfield [from Caddyshack, Back To School, Moving, The Simpsons and Still Standing], Edie McClurg [from WKRP In Cincinnati and Planes, Trains and Automobiles] and Steven Wright [from Reservoir Dogs and Half Baked]. Natural Born Killers is not for the easily offended, but If you really want to see a movie that's a pure piece of art, see this one! Wow, I can't believe the bad reception The Island had in theatres! It's not groundbreaking or anything, but it's influenced by some of the best sci-fi movies out there. There are cool similarities to Total Recall,  Impostor, The 6th Day, Logan's Run and many other sci-fi greats! The Island stars Ewan McGregor [from Trainspotting, Eye Of The Beholder, the newest Star Wars trilogy, Robots and Big Fish] and the very hot Scarlett Johansson [from Eight Legged Freaks and Lost In Translation] as Lincoln Six Echo and Jordan Two Delta, two survivors of an ecological disaster. They live in a safe complex where their every need is cared for. Some chosen few even get to go live outside on a beautiful island where everything's clean. But Lincoln Six Echo starts to question his environment and stumbles onto a reality bending conspiracy. Now it's up to him and his new hot girlfriend Jordan Two Delta to escape from danger while trying to figure everything out. It's such a classic that The Island was my favorite movie from all of 2005! The rest of the great cast includes Steve Buscemi [from Reservoir Dogs, Airheads, Fargo, Con Air, The Big Lebowski, Armageddon, Monsters Inc. and The Sopranos], Sean Bean [from Ronin,  Equilibrium, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, National Treasure and Silent Hill], Djimon Hounsou [from Stargate, Eragon and Alias], Ethan Phillips [from For Richer Or Poorer, Benson, Star Trek: Voyager, Las Vegas and Criminal Minds], Michael Clarke Duncan [from Armageddon, The Green Mile, Daredevil and Sin City] and Noa Tishby [from CSI: Miami, Las Vegas and The 4400]. I love how all the survivors are so undersocialized, plus all the great action and the awesome jet-cycles are really cool. So, get this movie, watch, love it, repeat as necessary. Bad Santa is one of the funniest and most original Christmas movies I've ever seen! It's not for the faint hearted or easily offended, but not too many cool things are anyway.  Bad Santa stars Billy Bob Thornton [from Slingblade, U-Turn, Armageddon, Pushing Tin and The Ice Harvest] as a drunken degenerate criminal named Willie. Willie only works around the holidays as a department store Santa. With his Christmas Elf sidekick Marcus [Tony Cox from Return Of The Jedi, Buck Rogers and Rescue Me] helping him as they really case the store for a robbery. These Christmas crooks live the rest of the year on the loot and then do it all again. The cast is great, including Brett Kelly [from Masters Of Horror and Dead Like Me], the super hot Lauren Graham [from Law & Order, Seinfeld and Newsradio], Lauren Tom [from Batman Beyond, Friends, The Division, Futurama, Quantum Leap, Justice League and Threshold], Bernie Mac [from Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve], and John Ritter [from Problem Child 1 and 2, Stephen King's IT, Bride Of Chucky, Three's Company and 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter].  I really love the crude comments and drunken behavior Willy displays with the kids. There's just something funny to me about a surly asshole as Santa Claus. He's always drunk and drinking, gets it on with women in the store changing rooms, and steals for a living. Lauren Graham is fantastic as the quirky and trashy girlfriend with a Santa fetish. This movie is especially great for cynics who want to see the Norman Rockwell world turned upside down. The movie's right up there with other Christmas classics as Gremlins and Die Hard!
