Office Space is one of the best workplace comedies you're ever going to see! It's made by Mike Judge who also made Beavis & Butthead and Idiocracy. The movie stars Ron Livingston [from Timecop the TV Series, The Practice, Nightmares & Dreamscapes and Standoff]  as Peter Gibbons, a programmer for a generic company called Initech. His life isn't happy, his job drives him nuts and then one day he just decides to make things different. It's an hilarious comedy, but there's a real message in there about how to live your life better. I know it definitely inspired a different outlook on my part. I especially love the part where the guys destroy the printer that's been making their lives miserable, and the great Gary Cole [from Cry_Wolf, American Gothic, The Outer Limits, The Practice, Wanted and The West Wing] as the jackass boss with the TPS Report obsession. Jennifer Aniston [from Rock Star, Bruce Almighty, The Break Up, Friends and Quantum Leap] is super hot as always, and does a cool job. Stephen Root [from Idiocracy, Stephen King's Golden Years, Night Court, Eerie Indiana, Newsradio and The West Wing] is an absolute riot as the mumbly disgruntled Milton Waddams. The Rest of the cast is great too, including Diedrich Bader [from The Drew Carey Show, Quantum Leap, Center Of The Universe, Still Standing   and Zeta Project], David Herman [from Idiocracy, Mad TV, Angel and 24], Ajay Naidu [from Requiem For A Dream, Pi and MacGyver], Richard Riehle [From Jury Duty, Desperate Measures, Quantum Leap and Star Trek Voyager], Alexandra Wentworth [from Trial & Error and Seinfeld], John C. McGinley [from Point Break, Surviving The Game, The Rock, Truth Or Consequences N.M. and Puff Puff Pass], Paul Wilson [from Moving and Cheers] and Orlando Jones [from The Replacements, Evolution, The Time Machine remake, and Mad TV]. If you need some perspective on what's really important in your life and where work fits in there, watch Office Space! Work is important, but don't let it get to you. Some people like a job with lots of rules and structure, some don't. Find out which one you are and run with it. National Treasure is a great adventure movie! It's exactly what The DaVinci Code should've been more like,  there's way more mystery and tracking clues here than that movie had. The great Nick Cage [from Face Off, Con Air, Gone In 60 Seconds, The Lord Of War, Ghost Rider and Next] stars as Ben Gates, the latest in the family line of Treasure Hunters. He's tracking a treasure that's tied up in myth involving the U.S.'s founding fathers and The Illuminati. I find the clues and path of the quest especially well written and the action is great too. I took my time in seeing National Treasure because I figured is was just going to be U.S. flag waving propaganda. There's a bit of that, but really it's just a cool story and a fantastic cast. Along with Nick Cage, the cast includes the lovely and talented Diane Kruger, Sean Bean [from Ronin, The Lord Of The Rings movies, Equilibrium and The Island], Justin Bartha, Jon Voight [from Heat, Mission Impossible, U-Turn, Enemy Of The State and Transformers], Harvey Keitel [from Saturn 3, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn and U-571],  Christopher Plummer [from Star Trek VI and 12 Monkeys], Erik King [from Golden Years, Kindred: The Embraced, Oz and Dexter], Annie Parisse [from Law & Order], and Mark Pellegrino [from The Big Lebowski and Dexter]. I like how Ben Gates is so good at what he does, and how he has to use a different name to be taken seriously because he's known as an obsessive nut. All the action scenes are loaded with suspense, especially the theft of the Declaration Of Independence and the scenes with the rickety old stairs the Illuminati built. The sequel is National Treasure: Book Of Secrets, and it's about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, should be cool if it's anything like the first one. So if you're someone who was turned off by all the U.S. patriotism stuff in the press for the movie, take it from a non american, it's not as overbearing to the movie as it seems. Cube Zero is the very cool prequel to the awesome original Cube movie! It features the same fantastic array of traps in an earlier version of the ominous Cube, but also shows you a lot that the original didn't!  In Cube Zero, the movie's as much about the administrators of The Cube as it is about the people trapped inside. I think a movie like this benefits from not having any big Hollywood stars. It just wouldn't work as well with a cast like Ocean's 11 or something. And even though there aren't any huge name stars, most of the cast does a great job! The cool cast includes Zachary Bennett [from Stir Of Echoes: The Homecoming], Stephanie Moore [from Urban Legends: Final Cut and The Dresden Files], Michael Riley [from To Catch A Killer, The Outer Limits, Veritas: The Quest and CSI], David Huband [from Tommy Boy, Frequency, Wrong Turn, Breach, The Lookout and The Red Green Show], Martin Roach, Mike Nahrgang, Richard McMillan [from The Day After Tomorrow, The Fountain and Earth: Final Conflict], Terri Hawkes [from Psi Factor, The Outer Limits and Earth: Final Conflict] and Tony Munch [from Land Of The Dead]. Once again, people are trapped in a giant puzzle made of randomly trapped rooms. This time though, we see things like who operates The Cube [it's bureaucratic, no shock there], and a view of the outside world [a near-future world with a powerful and out of control government].  I love how the operators of the equipment are scared of their bosses and don't seem to be allowed much more freedom that those in The Cube. The Exit Scenario and operation scenes are especially enlightening to viewers of the original Cube movie! The traps are everywhere and new to this chapter, which adds to the movie's coolness. I also like the failsafe of melting the numbers and purging the system. After the absolutely horrible Cube 2 Hypercube, I had low expectations for Cube Zero. I'm glad I was wrong and this movie is as good or better than the cool original! If you've seen and liked Cube, or if you didn't think it showed enough in the way of answers, see Cube Zero! The Girl Next Door is a way better movie than you might think at first glance. Sure the premise lends itself to lots of hot girls not wearing much [which kicks ass!], but there's more to it. The story is about a regular guy named Matthew Kidman [Emile Hirsch from ER and The Pretender].  Once a shockingly hot girl moves in next door, his whole life gets shaken up and he really starts to live his life. Elisha Cuthbert [from House Of Wax, The Quiet and 24] is amazingly, blindingly hot and perfectly cast as Danielle in this movie! As the movie goes on, Matthew finds out through his excited friends that Danielle is a porn star [There's no way I'm the only one who wishes she really did porn]. There's a whole "don't judge me by my porn" scenario because she wants to leave the business behind her. Then her old producer Kelly [Timothy Olyphant from Scream 2, Go, Dreamcatcher, Live Free Or Die Hard and My Name Is Earl] pops up and complicates her exit from the business. Timothy Olyphant is so cool in this movie, he steals the movie [well, as much as somebody can from Elisha Cuthbert and some hot porn stars]. His character is a bit of a bad guy, but I think he's just more of a pragmatist. Kelly reminds me a lot of a good friend of mine. The rest of the cast is cool too, including James Remar [from 48 Hours, Blade Trinity, Third Watch, Dexter and Jericho], Chris Marquette [from Freddy vs. Jason] and Paul Dano [from Taking Lives, Fast Food Nation and The Sopranos]. A movie like this could easily just become a mindless T&A flick, but the writing and characters are cool.  The Girl Next Door is the perfect example of how T&A can be combined with cool writing and good acting to make a great movie! Anybody who's into girls should love this movie, but the movie itself is good too! Plus, Timothy Olyphant's Kelly is the most cool and likeable bad guy I think I've seen in a movie! He'll make you wish you knew a sleazy porn producer you could hang with. My favorite scenes are any ones with Elisha Cuthbert or the porn girls but be careful some scenes like when she shows up at the door soaked could shake loose any aneurisms you might have lying dormant. Buckle up, Stephen King fans! Yet another great Stephen King adaptation makes its way onto InfiniteCoolness.com! Dreamcatcher is a lot different from the usual King story though, it's about an alien invasion. It's a big sci-fi invasion story told as only Stephen King can.  The movie is mostly about four childhood friends. When they were young they met and befriended a very unusual boy. Through knowing their friend Duddits, when a big invasion comes they're involved. It's up to them to figure things out and stop the invaders from taking over the world. I love the imposing Greys, they're not the shrimpy guys from other sci-fi. And the plague and monstrous toothy Shitweasels are impressive and perfectly done. The cast is great, including Thomas Jane [Face Off, Deep Blue Sea and The Mutant Chronicles], Jason Lee [from Mallrats, Enemy Of The State, The Incredibles, Underdog and My Name Is Earl], Timothy Olyphant [from Scream 2, Go, The Girl Next Door and Live Free Or Die Hard], Damian Lewis, Morgan Freeman [from Teachers, The Shawshank Redemption, Seven, Kiss The Girls, Deep Impact, Outbreak, Bruce Almighty and Batman Begins], Tom Sizemore [from Lockup, Point Break, Natural Born Killers, Strange Days, Heat, The Relic, Saving Private Ryan, Enemy Of The State and Bringing Out The Dead],  Donnie Wahlberg [from Ransom, Body Count, The Sixth Sense, Saw 2 and Runaway], Rosemary Dunsmore [from Total Recall and ReGenesis], Eric Keenleyside [from Antitrust, Final Destination 2, The Outer Limits, Two, The X-Files, The Dead Zone, Dead Like Me, Supernatural and Masters Of Horror], C. Ernst Harth [from Thirteen Ghosts, Strange Luck, Harsh Realm, Dead Like Me, Saved and Psych] and Ingrid Kavelaars [from Jeremiah, The Handler and Stargate SG-1]. As Stephen King stories tend to do, a lot of the struggle is internal. That's the case literally as Jonesy battles the alien Mr. Grey for control over his own mind. If you're looking for an interesting and original twist on an alien invasion, then you have to see Dreamcatcher!
