Slither is a cool gory zombie-filled alien invasion-fest of a movie! The movie is a lot like the great Night Of The Creeps, the only other alien slugs making people into zombies movie that I know of.  Once the slugs get into a human host through the mouth, that person becomes a slime spitting zombie who shares a hive like mind with the original infectee. The alien organism can also turn people into huge bloated incubators that explode into a giant swarm of new slugs too. Plus the original patient zero mutates into a huge gross creature that grows in size and power. The movie has many gross scenes, like the swarms of wrigling alien slugs, and the ravenous eating habits of those that become incubators. Slither has an old school alien invasion vibe, mixed with the gory horror movie stuff. I think it's just the right mix of the two. Michael Rooker [from The Dark Half, Cliffhanger, The Replacement Killers, The 6th Day, Jumper, The Outer Limits and Jeremiah] does an excellent job as Grant, the primary infectee.  The rest of the cast is great, including Nathan Fillion [from Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Drive], Don Thompson [from MacGyver, The Commish, Two, The X-Files and Battlestar Galactica], Elizabeth Banks [from the Spider-Man movie trilogy], Gregg Henry [from Raising Cain, Voyagers!, Strange Luck, Boston Public, 24 and The Handler] and Xantha Radley [from Thirteen Ghosts]. The movie has lots of funny comedy too, but it's well written and well placed. The trailer makes Slither seem way goofier than it actually is so don't let that discourage you from watching. The movie is kind of a combination of Night Of The Creeps, The Blob, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, The Thing and Planet Terror. If you like movies with lots of gore, you'll like this one! I love all the shambling zombie scenes, all the gore, the creepy alien-infected little girl, the scene where Starla skewers the deputy's neck with a metal pole, and the dark basement where MacReady lights his lighter to see what's there. As a huge fan of Night Of The Creeps, I think that Slither is the next best thing to getting a sequel to that old classic. Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives is probably my favorite one of Jason's endless [hopefully] stream of movies so far! It has the greatest Jason resurrection of all the movies. The movie starts with Tommy Jarvis [Thom Matthews from Return Of The Living Dead and Return Of The Living Dead Part II], a former survivor of Jason's rampage,  going to Jason's grave to make sure he's dead. Tommy is all messed up as anybody would be and digs up Jason, stabbing his corpse with a big metal piece of fence. Then lightning strikes the metal pole and the jolt brings a gory maggot-eaten Jason back to kill again! For a while it's only Tommy who knows about the danger, but he's messed up and nobody believes him at first. The name's even been changed from Crystal Lake to bury the old stories, and that's just how the sheriff [David Kagen from CSI, Enterprise and Life] wants it. Meanwhile Jason's out looking for victims, and makes some great kills. He takes out some paintball people in the woods, a couple in a car in a very cool scene, and a wandering drunk. By this time, the sheriff's hot daughter Megan [Jennifer Cooke from V] and her friends Nikki [Darcy DeMoss from Reform School Girls and Return To Horror High], Cort [Tom Fridley from The Karate Kid and Face Off] and   Sissy [the very hot Renee Jones from WKRP in Cincinnati, Quincy M.E., Night Court, L.A. Law and Star Trek The Next Generation] are starting their jobs as camp counselors at the former Crystal Lake. Jason has more phenominal kills in the movie too. I especially like when he kills the two teens having sex in the motor home and after it's on fire on it's side, Jason stands on top of it like he rules the world! The scene where he scares the kids but doesn't hurt them is cool too, and so is the great fiery showdown with Tommy Jarvis on Crystal Lake! The only thing this great Friday The 13th movie is missing is some girls getting naked, and with some hot girls in the cast it was a real missed opportunity to make the movie perfect. Even without that though, this is a fantastic example of Jason Voorhees in action! If you think all or most of the many Friday The Thirteenth sequels were schlock, you really need to see Jason Lives!
